Jianyun Nie currently serves as a Surgical Oncologist of Breast Cancer Center in Yunnan Province, Professor of the 3rd Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, Director of Department of Breast Cancer, Yunnan Cancer Hospital, Chairman of the Breast Cancer, Professional Committee of Yunnan Medical Doctor Association, Standing Member of CSCO Expert Committee on Breast Cancer, Member of breast cancer professional committee of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, Standing Member of CSCO Expert Committee on Patient Education, Standing Member of the Breast Cancer Committee of the China, Medical Promotion Association and Vice Chairman of the Breast Cancer Professional Committee of Yunnan Anti-Cancer Association.
After obtaining medical degree from Hunan Medical University (i.e. Xiangya Medical College of South Central University) in 1996, Dr. Nie started his career as a clinical and research fellow at Department of Breast Cancer Surgery, Yunnan Cancer Hospital. Up to now, Dr. Nie has been working as a surgeon for 25 years. During this period, Dr. Nie achieved his master degree and doctor degree of surgical oncology, and continued training for a career in cancer biology as a postdoctoral fellow at Goodman Cancer Center in McGill University in Canada. During his career in Yunnan Breast Cancer Center, he majored in clinical operation of breast cancer on 5000 cases and also initiated a comprehensive effort to study epigenetic modulation of targeted therapies, aiming at providing new insights into epigenetics and drug resistance of breast cancer. As supervisor of master and Doctor degree student, Dr. Nie trained 40 students and published over 60 papers, and received numerous awards for his scientific accomplishments.
