Gland Surgery, being peer-reviewed and open-accessed since its launch in 2012, is now formally indexed by PubMed Central (PMC), a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). All articles of Gland Surgery will be searchable in PMC within one month.
Being included in PMC allows Gland Surgery to provide its excellent content for a larger scale of readers. Hopefully, it will largely enhance the visibility of articles (published before and after) in Gland Surgery, for full articles will be more easily accessed. The indexation itself is significant, for PMC is the very first database that indexes the journal after its two years publication as a quarterly journal. It is also the first database that Gland Surgery ever applied. Gland Surgery strongly supports the PMC goal of open access and international collaboration, as this mirrors one of the fundamental goals of Gland Surgery.
The editorial board members, authors, reviewers and editors are to be appreciated with their continuous support and contribution to Gland Surgery.
